South Africa by Motor Home
It is 4am and we are sitting in the silent Spokane Airport awaiting the first of the 5 flight connections that will in 35 hours deposit us in Johannesburg, South Africa. The planning for the trip has taken every minute of a year. A year of studying travel publications, scouring the Internet and picking the brains of the many friends who have preceded us on this quest for the perfect picture of that Zebra or Lion.
We could have taken the easy route and booked an all inclusive tour or perhaps one of the planned self drive tours that are so popular in South Africa. This option would certainly have been less time consuming. By researching and planning we have exercised the old brains and built the anticipation, for us half the fun of travel is the planning. After considering cost, personal comfort and freedom we decided to rent a small Motor home from Bobo Campers in Johannesburg and explore the Game Parks in the comfort of our little cottage on wheels.
We hope over the next month to post a lot of "once in a lifetime" photos of wildlife, African scenery and culture.. So travel along with us and keep your fingers crossed that we will actually see that wildlife.
