Reflections on 5 months South of the Border

We are back in Texas.  We had to cut our trip short by a few weeks due to Skip and Helen's brake failure.  So the Colonial Cities will have to be visited another year.  Always leave a reason to return.
I have bombarded you all winter with pictures of the tourist spots.  As beautiful as these areas are, the real jewel of Mexico is its people and its everyday life.  So with this post I will share with you some of the wonderful people we meet along the way.

These fishermen motored over to our boat to show off their catch.

The Children are always a treat, their lives are so different from each other.

Circumstances force many of Mexico's children into the family business at a early age.

Thankfully this is slowly changing.  A generation is emerging who will have the privilege of just being children.

An example is these two young men sharing a i-pod  on the bus on their way home from school.

Mennonite farmers were evident in all parts of Mexico and Central America that we visited.

Every large town and city in Mexico has modern shopping centers and super markets.  But the central markets still flourish and are always a delight to shop in.

I am fascinated with the many uses of the tricycle.

We brought home some great memories, but as always when you travel it's great to be home.
