St Lucia, land of Hippo's and the Indian Ocean
Not long after crossing back into South Africa we did a U-turn to visit this market.
A troop of monkeys decended on us almost as soon as the engine was turned off. They were very curious of us and really wanted to find a way into the RV's and at the goodies inside.
The large troop showed little fear of us. We had been warned to keep our food packed away and our windows and vents closed to prevent the monkeys making themselves at home in our rigs.
After we tired of taking pictures of the monkeys we walked to the beach. The Hippo Hole is between the trail and the Indian Ocean.
The hippo's enjoying their afternoon with the ocean in the back ground. No barrier between us and them.
We made our way around the Hippos to the ocean just as the sun set. We didn't stay long because with the hippos between us and the campground we certaintly did not want to be caught out here in the dark.
We did find the trail the hippo's use to get to the beach. I couldn't resist walking in there footprints.
