Veracruz

On the must see while visiting Veracruz is the old Spanish Fort San Juan de Ulua. The 1835 fort now shares the waterfront with Container ships and the giant cranes that unload 10,000 containers a week from around the world. A startling contrast and it also makes for an interesting picture. There was extensive restoration underway. It also looked like they were collecting relics and cataloging them.

Lunch almost anywhere in Mexico is rarely just lunch. Today we dined on Snapper Veracruz style, while listening to a Marimba band as Ron finalizes the big deal of the day, the purchase of a matrimonial hammock.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..........

Our last day in Veracruz is really windy a very good day to stay in camp and just  enjoy the Veracruz skyline across the choppy bay.  But that's not what we do, so we are off to the Soriana Shopping Mall in Boca del Rio to find Christmas Cards for all of you.....sorry, lo siento, lo siento, so sorry, no Mexican Christmas Cards for any of  you.  After searching the mall in vain  it occurred to me that just maybe Mexicans did not exchange cards at Christmas time.  While still in Texas I had a box of Spanish Cards in my basket to fill out and mail from south of the border but I put them back because that felt a little bit like cheating.  Oh well to all of you who probably would have received a beautiful Christmas card greeting from us just remember you are in our thoughts over the Holidays and always.
