At Last.......La Pesca

We left Texas on Thursday 11/18/09.  The drive down was beautiful, only one 7 mile stretch of road construction.
We are parked on the Rio Soto La Marina. 2 miles from the small fishing village of La Pensa on the Gulf of Mexico.  Temperature in the 80's with a gentle breeze.
While we were toasting the sunset with our traveling buddies Skip and Helen a German Rig pulled in.  What interesting travels this single man  has had.  Two years ago he shipped his 22 foot rig to Chile and  has driven both coasts of S. America.  While in Brazil he loaded it on a barge and went up the Amazon. After visiting Alaska and both coasts of the US and Canada he is returning to Veracruz, MX to load the rig on a frieghter for transport back to
Europe.  After a brief rest he is joining a group of RV's who are going overland on the Silk Road across to Russia and China.  That Gentleman knows how to Travel !

The Beach here seems endless.  Since there are only two forms of entertainment in La Pesca and we don't have a ocean going panga and fishing gear we went shelling.
Ron is just pretending to collect shells, he really could care less.  But this is serious business to Helen.
We miss the perfect photo today.  We were peeking around the waterfront  in the Jeep and meet a pickup.  In the back of the pickup piled up like cord wood were fish as long as the bed of the full sized truck.  Helen and I were both fumbling around for our cameras as they sped away.
